I’m taking the suspension, engine, and drive train from a 2001 blaster and installing it on a go cart frame. I’m beefing up the go cart to make it more of a mini buggy frame and plan on running some pretty meaty tires maybe as large as 31”. I’m rebuilding the engine (Top and bottom end, case is already split) and wondering what if anything I need to do to give me enough bottom end to power the extra load and also not run out of steam on a longer hill on top end. Also does my block have to be machined or is that just if you are boring it out? Everything is currently stock to my knowledge and case has been thoroughly cleaned. Just need some guidance on what step to take next in ordering engine kits and or getting a machine shop involved. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it's all apart and stock.check all bearings, crank, rod, balancer shaft and tranny bearings. New crank seals are a must. And if stock it's probably ready for a fresh bore and piston?you would have to check piston to cylinder wall clearance .
Sounds like a fun project.
Running 31 inch tires you will probably have to change. Gearing. Some. Maybe a 12t for a front sprocket? You will know when you run it
