So, as some of you know, I parted out my Blaster the other week.
I made so much money off parting it out that I put down about 50% on a brand-new, leftover TRX250X.

Let me tell you, this thing is as much fun as the Blaster and it's great for bigger guys like myself (265lbs and 6'0").

It's a good quad for beginners since it has a centrifugal clutch and a cable clutch.

Sit down and let me explain:
It has the same transmission and drivetrain as the old TRX250EX and Recon 250 ES. That means it's a shaft-drive, air-cooled quad.

Starting with the "redesign," they implemented a cable-clutch override for the centrifugal clutch for those of us who are used to using a clutch.
It's great for my girlfriend because she is unfamiliar with riding ATV's with a clutch and can get the hang of it without it stalling. It's great for me because it's a torquey S.O.B that pulls wheelies as easy as the Blaster.

Here's the best part...it has working brakes! :D

Working brakes?that's taking the fun out of it:D. Nice score. Are you giving that one to her and getting your own later if she is into riding?

Michele rides already.
She has a 2003 Honda Recon and she rides better than most of my buddies.
The Recon rocks and she's keeping it, but the TRX is for me.
It won't break every time I mention "Weekend Ride" or take it off a jump.

I wanted something bulletproof and something that I can teach her the basics of using a clutch so she doesn't loop her dirtbike when she gets on it.

We have a 1997 Honda XR100 on loan from her family friend so she can learn how to ride a dirtbike.

The xr will be good to learn on .flat power.no very tall

Probably a CRF150R if she likes it. Perhaps a TTR225 or 250 if I can find one
The ttr is hit or miss here. It's like a wave .there is a handful for sale sometimes. Or there is one that is way overpriced

Everything is overpriced right now.
You are right.last 3 months prices seemed to have creeped up some.. I was getting ready to pick up a blaster project. But. Like you said the prices are crazy right now.

I was going to pick up a parts one for $500, but all the people who have been sitting at home getting "free money" from Uncle Sam snatch crap like that up in the blink of an eye.

They are crazy high right now 1800 and up ones 3500 with stock suspention.must be a new drug out or something

What's a modern blaster fell like?:D
Never rode one.
Any luck on your $500 blasty
Yeah, the guy never got back to me.
But I took the TRX out riding over the weekend where I normally take the bike and wow...what a night and day difference.
Sure, it can't bomb hillclimbs, but it takes jumps better
