Hi all!

My son bought a 2005 blaster amd it was running great. Started runnjng like crap and I tokk a look at it. It doesnt have an airbox at all. The air filter is a 2 stage uni that clamps right on to the carb and neither the inner or outer elements are oiled.

There is dirt getting into the carb (very fine) so i of course want to fix that problem first.

Can you guys give me some advice? Should I buy all the airbox parts and put it back to stock? If so, could you please help me with the parts i will need?

Or should I stick with the type of filter he's using? I think I'd need a different size - this one has a rubber ring that goes onto the carb first so the filter will fit... seems pretty hack.

Really need some help to get the kid going

Thanks in advance!

filters directly on the carb are notorious for jetting issues due to air turbulence
others have found a 4-6 inch piece of correctly sized pvc pipe between the intake and filter allows the air to "straighten out" and produce better results.

is just the rubber boot missing from between carb and actual airbox ?
if the airbox is completely missing, as in cut out of the plastic fender assembly, a CFM airbox is your best option
