Hey all, doing a top end on a blaster all the parts for it are gonna be here by this weekend all except for the wrist pin bearing which is apparently gonna take 2 weeks (shipping is not good right now). I have a hot rod wrist pin bearing that was in this top end before it was starting to lose compression. Looks good no signs of wear or anything and it isn’t unbranded wondering if they can be re-used or am a better off waiting for the new one?

Some people may. But me personally i wouldn't. New piston new pin new bearing no worries . i can see the temptation 2 weeks.but you did order a new one so you planned on doing it right. Your call. If it has low time on it maybe.but what lead to low compression?alot of hours or and air leak?

Honestly think it was just the crappy Chinese top end kit but lasted a hard 20-30 hours of riding (and got it for free so why not) but i got oem jug, head, piston, etc coming so shouldn’t worry for a good while after this. I was already leaning on the wait for it side because i agree might as well have it all new.

20 to 30 hrs is more than some.they realy need prep work before you install one.
How is your jetting?

Hope your boring the cylinder to match your new piston
Came with the original piston too rings already on it and original head. My guess is the guy put a 240 kit on his so he didn’t need the stock jug etc anymore. It actually just came in today looks like it barely had any riding time on it pretty mint. And just saw your other comment jetting is spot on for where I’m at, 32.5 pilot with 300 main, fnf exhaust, opened up filter. 1.5 turns out

You should still check piston clearance.
