Anyone in Indiana know a good mechanic

I have a 1998 blaster was told I needed a new top end brought it home now I can't get it running?
Do you have a compression tester? And leakdown tester are important tools to have for checking the health and diagnosing engine problems. If you can give as much information as possible the better.clean air filter and clean gas mixed32:1 if oil injection was deleted?

I don't have a compression tester I had the top end rebuilt by a back yard mechanic got it back was breaking it in easy and just bogged down and died wouldn't start! Won't be taking it back there

Was the topend rebuild done with a cheap ebay kit? If so that is probably your problem. Unless carb is flooding. Or a very lean condition.can cause a bog also. When you kick it over does it fell like it still has good compression

When it bogged out I noticed there was gas in the exhaust took it off drained it took spark plug out kicked got a lot of gas out started and died changed carb I bought online won't start at all now

Mind you I am no mechanic just trying found this site and have been looking at it and seems helpful already
There is probably still gas in the crank area.with spark plug out and ignition off!!!!!! Gas off!! Start kicking. Holding throttle wide open and try to get more fuel. Out of crank area. Maybe leave plug and exhaust off overnight to evaporate some. Need to go get a 4pack of b8es plugs. The plug in it is probably fouled.if plug is fouled it won't start.after trying to get gas out of crank area.new plug, and try it

A clymers manual is a great thing to have.it will help you to work on and understand the difrent components of your blaster

Any recommendations I tore into the top end piston rings are siezed think I will just tear it down and buy new is there a good kit for topend or should I buy piece by piece I tried looking but with so many options I'm lost?

If I were you I’d stay away from cheap Chinese kits. Go with wiseco or something reputable, You’ll be better off and happier in the long run.

X2 on the Chinese cylinder kits. Bring your cylinder to a machine shop to get measured and bored.let them know what kind of piston you want to run .they can get piston and gaskets.and wristpin bearing, reed gaskets, exhaust for you.thats easiest way. Especially if your not
Familiar with the process. I would recommend getting a manual. Top ends are not difficult to do.if done right you only do it once:D
