So I bought a full blaster engine for 50 bucks complete with clutch and all parts attached to it, the piston had exploded and there are tiny pieces of metal everywhere so my question is I disassembled the entire thing except the bottom end, do I need to disassemble the bottom end as well to ensure all pieces are out of it or is there a different way? Also the cylinder itself looks beautiful but I believe the head is bad, here’s a picture, can this be fixed?

You will indeed need to split the cases, I'd replace everything, main bearings and a crank rebuild, others have gambled and got away with flushing the bearings and got lucky, I did not, even 1 little piece missed can destroy everything, including any new top end parts.

That head looks like it's been at least milled before, but not evenly, and possibly the combustion chamber and squish band reworked.
I'd send that off (and the crank & cylinder) for a refresh to kenoconnorracing.com

do it right the first time and not cry twice.

Agreed with splitting cases.can get head rechambered cheap.did you buy this motor as a spare or replacement engine?

I bought it for spare parts, I salvaged everything I could and threw the bottom end away, I don’t want to deal with it but just having a spare clutch pack was worth the 50 bucks alone

Don't throw bottom end out! The cases are still good right. If you break a chain you might need it

Oh well, blastys are cheap anymore at 600 bucks running....guess I’ll have to rely on the stock guard....interesting how eBay/amazon don’t have case savers for these things.
