Amen to that!

Go through Vermont. Take a gander at this article:

The guy's name is Ed. He was somewhat local to where I lived. Cool guy, definitely knew how to find legal loopholes (I'm not sure how or if that's a good thing).

It's not 4 oz per gallon.that would give you 32:1.. You should buy a proper mixing cup then you can mix all ratios properly, for 1,1.5,2.0 gallons.40:1 would be alittle less per gallon than the 4 oz you mentioned.you need to be consistent with your mixing.its important

Trying to get this pic resize thing down.this is a cheap mixing cup . might be able to get one where you got the oil.the one in your pic is for baking bread. Not tearing up dirt:D

If you're a numbers/math freak like me, 1 gallon = 128 ounces. Your premix ratio is based off of ounces. If you want to run 40:1, calculate how many gallons you put in (I believe the KDX has a 2.8 or 3.0 gallon tank) and divide that by 40. That's how much oil you need to put in.

I personally run two-strokes on the heavier side. As I stated before, the oil cools your combustion chamber. If the manual states for 40:1 and you have zero modifications, I would suggest running 40:1. If you got a pipe and re-jetted the carb accordingly, run it around 32:1.

Also, Klotz is always the best go-to in my opinion. You can also get away with Amsoil Synthetic two-stroke oil, that's what I ran in my 1992 YZ250, and it seemed to like that better than any of the other two-stroke oils.
