Clip position/ Removal

Sorry if this topic has been talked about, but I can’t find a good explanation on line. Ok so I have my carb off right now to jet it, I want to make sure my needle is in the right clip position. But I can’t figure out how to get the slide off the cable.... I still have the TORS box on it for right now... I see where the cable slides out of the spot it sits in, but there’s a “safety retainer” looking thing blocking the slot... Can anyone tell me step by step how to get it off the cable?

truth be told it's been too long I fooled with a stock carb to remember offhand how it disassembles :(
 
What exactly do I push in on and turn with the screw driver?

pretty sure now that I've looked at a schematic, the info I gave above was wrong, and I edited out that bad info :(
 
Oh alright, thanks for letting me know. I think I got it figured out now. I found a good description of how to take it apart, it was under a jetting topic

I got another question kinda on this topic. What’s the reason to remove the TORS. I’m thinking about doing it just to get that big switch off the top of the carb. But mine hasn’t acted up or nothin so what does it do if it messes up? Could I be stuck on the trail and it won’t start or somthing?

When new and operational it’s probably a great system. However when it malfunctions it can cause a variety of problems. The biggest being the limp home mode, in which it actually won’t move because it won’t make enough power to move at all.
Mine quit on the trail during a light mist. I had to stop and dry out my throttle housing. That was before I knew all I had to do was unplug the brain.

Oh wow. Thanks for sharing that info. I’ll probably be removing my TORS soon.
