Weird question but how long will a Blaster's engine brake?

So you are coming down hill off a mountain or slope and you let the engine do the braking because you do not know any better. Obviously, since you are mixing 2 stroke 32:1 btw, the engine is now not getting any lubrication because you are off the throttle.

How far will it go before it seizes up? Saying this slope is, hypothetically endless.

WOW !!
This is actually a good question !
Even with throttle closed it's still pulling fuel on idle circuit.
Though it's spinning fast, it isn't creating power or heat. Plus there is oil that pools in the crank area.

If you are concerned pull the clutch and blip the throttle. In 45 yrs of riding never any problem.

FYI, do not go long distances with clutch pulled in. Ball will weld to push rod = no clutch.

Thanks @Larry's Shee . When I ride I am aware of the above so coming down hill the throttle will be blipped every 2 or 3 seconds. I never freewheel will clutch in for long.

Reason for my question is, if my kids and their friends use the Blasters, they obviously do not know any better. SO I just want to have an understanding how strong the engine will be in such a case. If that makes sense.

Ok, inexperienced rider
How long of a hill are you talking? How steep?
Unless it's worn out and has piston slap, it should be fine. <<< Critical
As I mentioned it's still getting mix through pilot and you're not making heat,/power.
I think IdIbe more concerned in running to long wide open in to low of gear.
One detail not mentioned is any modifications you have.
Be sure to run ONLY high quality mix oil, no weedwacker, saw, or boat oil.
If you are that concerned consider upping the oil to 28:1

It's not a long hill as such, it's actually dunes. I believe of which the highest would be around 60-70ft and declining around 15 degrees. So it's up and down etc.

Modifications range from full FMF on one bike to stock to oversized piston on the other. All aimed to be tuned slightly rich.

I do run a high quality 2stroke mix I believe. Castrol Racing 2stroke.

Current ratio is 32:1 but I agree with you and will start taking it up to 28:1 when I plan my next plug chops on the bikes.

Regarding the over rev, that is also a concern for me. Thought of adding a block inside the throttle to limit it to 3/4 throttle max. The adjusting screw is just to easy to override. That should surely help a little. How much? I don't know. LOL.

Throttle limiter won't prevent overrev/no load. IF you go with more oil you may need to re-jet. More oil,=less gas per volume. Therefore need more fuel.
I've been riding 40+yrs never a problem with coasting/engine braking, even with downshifting which increases revs with closed throttle.

There is quite a fair amount of residual oil in the crankcase, and bearing in mind that on over run some mix is delivered by the idle circuit, if one blips the throttle occasionally it should be fine...
