Have a 2001 that I picked up a few weeks ago, was having some carb issues when idling and I replaced the carb, ran way better still need to fine tune it to see what it likes. When riding it going to shift up something came loose had to push it home, found that the clutch and basket had come loose and hit case cover. Well I have an 04 and put that clutch on and cover, now clutch won't engage when pulling lever. Adjusted clutch to align but still no go. Also when riding trying to get clutch right it just died and won't start was a little smoke from exhaust when trying to kick start. But kicker is way to easy to push like it has no compression. Any ideas of what could be the Issue on both?
Thanks in advance

I did replace the case and put on new gasket

My immediate instinct with the clutch issue is the little bearing ball thing that goes on the rod, but as for the engine problem I’m not sure what to tell you

The kicker is not a reliable indication of compression. If you determine with a guage that it's low, PLEASE do a leak down test and wash it before you tear it apart. The test will help determine WHY it quit

Need to get a leak down tester, could it possibly be the seal for the clutch cover?
