Finally got the little guy torn apart to resleeve/bore the cylinder and upon further inspection I found discoloration on the crank. Coming from a European race background, I would sh*t bunnies and do cheetah flips if I saw this on one of my cars. That being said, is there anything to worry about here or do I need to just go ahead and pick up a new crank while I’m in there?
Auto cranks are one piece forged or cast then ground. A Blaster crank is three pieces. They heat the journals to swedge the pin in. That's just discoloration from the process.
Gotcha. Makes sense. Thank you! I’ve got her all back together, but I appreciate the input. Puts my mind at ease at least. Now I’m dealing with transmission issues. Looking to see if I can find any posts on the subject.
