Are the cheap Ebay carbs any good?

Long story short, I was in the process of threading my Mikuni carb for an idle screw and the thread tap (or die, what ever teh cutting tool is) broke inside of my carb with part of the tool remaining stuck in the carb.

I could try to drill it out slowly and hope the threads work for the idle screw. My 1st inclination is to just grab a used stock carb and rebuild it using the new rebuild parts in my current carb. However all the carbs I'm seeing on Ebay look like Mikuni fakes - easily identified with their existing idle screws.

Neighbor says those cheap carbs aren't too bad and since I only have 300 into this project bike, he recommends getting one. Thoughts?

NO... rebuild the stock carbs Chinese junksters are not designed for the blaster. None of the jets are marked, so you have no clue. The choice is yours. I vote no.

I also vote NO. There was just a thread about them. Appearantly the knock off is only 24mm stock is 26.

There's a carb called an OKO. A Kehine knock off. Was the hot ticket originally. Then quality went downhill. Now I haven't heard anything about them in a couple of years.

Quality doesn't cost it pays.
