04 blaster cylinder

Picking up an 04 blaster this weekend. Guy claims it just needs wiring fixed but i always doubt that will be all .Anyone know of a decent cylinder for fairly cheap .I want to startredo at least the top end and start at standard bore. I see some for verry cheap on ebay but are they total garbage or ok? Also any good mods i should do right away?

Genuine Yamaha is the ONLY way to go.
When you can get a cylinder, head, gaskets, piston, AND a carb for less than the cost of a Wiseco piston you know it's junk.

Other than I wouldn't pay to have a Max bored cylinder ported, I see no problem with it. Even with a stock cast piston they run a very long time. With a forged piston it's practically forever.
I'd pay to have it resleeved before I bought ChingChong junk.

Mods to do right now? DIY porting, pipe, air filter, rejet.

It has a full toomy b1 pipe on it now. I dont know about the jetting yet .It has the airbox cut off with the oem style boot and filter but a knock off k&n filter .I live in the dessert so im hoping dust wont be a problem. Should i look into putting the airbox back or do you think this will be ok? If i keep it this way though do you know the size of thae back of the carb so i can set up something nicer with a round filter
