I got my 06 Blaster dirt cheap. Well, I’ve started to see why. Lots of stupid stuff missing and incorrect parts. So at some point, someone lost the master cylinder and put on an 88-02 rear carrier and used two pieces of 1/8” plate to make an adapter to an unknown rear caliper. I’ve removed the original master bracket and installed a new Banshee master, after welding on new tabs for it to fit. The caliper on it is definitely not Yamaha. Anyway, I want to put a Banshee axle in the rear with a properly mounted caliper. What can I do to fix this mess? I’ll try to upload pics tomorrow of the mess.

if the tabs were missing for the master ? then they were either cut off, or that's not an 03-06 hydro brake frame ?
what makes you think it's an 06 if the brakes and frame don't match 03-06 ?

The VIN is an 06. As stated it also has SE plastics. The tabs were there for the master. But the master itself was gone. The Chinese Banshee master didn’t bolt up, so I replaced the tabs.

Ok here are the photos of what’s going on. In the last photo, you can see I ground down my initial weld. I was trying to verify penetration. Anyway, I’m going to finish welding that up and then get to fixing up this rear.

looks good, where's the brake fluid resivor ?

Also, if anyone wants this rear set up. I will happily part with it. I have no idea what the caliper is off of. But I will include the carrier, adapter plates, caliper w/ hose, and the brake disc. If you’re interested, make an offer.

Did some research. Looks like the caliper is off of a Polaris trail boss. Why it’s on a Blaster, the world may never know.

UUMM, because it's what someone had laying around ?
I adapted a Warrior setup to work. Caliper to carrier bracket is ugly but works. I need to rework brake pedal though.

Just got my new rear carrier. What the best way to clean this thing up? The bearings are shot so I need to disassemble it anyway. Would you recommend soap and water, degreaser, sandblasted...? What would work best?

I was thinking $75 shipped. No, the master is not included as one wasn’t on the quad when I got it. What will be included, rear carrier with adapter brackets, rear hydro caliper with pads. All you will need is a master and a brake line. I got my Banshee master off eBay for $13. Should be able to do a rear hydro setup for under $100.

Just an fyi: The foot peg setup you have and are using is from an 03-06. Whoever buys this will need to extend their existing pedal by welding material on or get an 03-06 brake pedal and right side peg. Good luck with the sale.

Thanks, I forgot to mention that. I guess I assumed that was a given being that my quad is an 06. But yes, you will also need to extend your pedal.

Your blaster is not an 06.. It is an 88-02.. I can tell just by the pics posted. Whats the 10th digit of your vin#?
