So i went to ride my blaster yesterday and everytime i revved it up high it stayed thre and would not come down even when i hit the kill switch and turned off the key. Also it wont idle at all unless i keep revving it up. I kept messing with my idle screw but nothing worked and it backfires like crazy. Any thoughts?

Air leak!
Stop running the engine don't ride it! or serious damage will occur!
what mods have you done! have you done the T.O.R.S. delete?

Spray soapy water or starting fluid around every gasket, rubber boots etc. if it revs up theirs a leaking gasket, or if the spoay water bobbles up.
common
place for air leaks is the rubber boot the connects the carb to the engine.
1
Check the rubber boots for cracks and then spray it.
2 spray the carb also. around the top for leaking seals

3 spray base gasket, head gasket etc.
4 dont forget the yamabond gasket that you have to make fot the cases.
5 spray around were the pipe is. if air is leaking from the exhasut it still can blow up.

I cant even keep it running to try and spray it with the soapy water ill check the boot around my carb i bet thats it i took it off not too long ago to clean up the plastics i bet it didnt put it back on properly im no mechanic but ive been tryin to do everything i can

Btw no mods done to the quad besides new carb also what kind of leakdown tester should i buy?

So its not revving like crazy anymore but it still wont idle. It seems to be leaking gas from the petcock and possibly oil from the front of the engine is this something i can fix easily

The needle and seat in the carb is not shutting off the fuel when the float raises.
This may be because of dirt in the fuel line or a float that may be rubbing or out of adjustment.

Where is the oil coming from exactly.

The very front left side of the engine if ur looking from the front im not a mechanic so i don't know what to call it its right in front of where i put my oil in

I'm having the same problems too.

perhaps you are talking about the crankcase breather hose?
if the hose is missing then it will spill out there instead of underneath front nose.
although it should not spill out unless it is overfilled with tranny/gear oil
and hose is routed correctly :)
