This is the vacuum hose for the EVAP system that I need help with on the 99 Jetta I'm working on.

Thank you for helping. I'm sure someone will be searching Google pics for hours looking for my latest pic to call me out on. Happy hunting.

Actually I wasn't hunting yesterday, I googled vacuum routing to try and help you, but the fake pic you posted came up in the first row of results.

And you sure did get a hard on at an opportunity to call me out and talk crap about me. Nice example you set for this forum. At least there are two other moderators that don't have a forum God syndrome.

So. Got the blaster finished. Took it for its first ride to start tuning. Pre plug chop, rediculously rich 250 mj. 120 psi. Leak test good. Fired third kick.

Got 2 blocks away. Started rattling death sounds, lost all power.

Pushed it home, mostly up hill.

Throw the compression gauge on. 45psi!!

Any guesses????

Ring caught a port. I will never not do a top end rebuild on a blaster again. Everything said it was good to go. Port champher was the only wild card.

What motor is that? VW are very complex cars to work on haha, i cant imagine a rebuild. im guessing timing belt wore out?

lol timing belt? no. timing belt. water pump. oil pan, gasket. all replaced at about 150k.
then plugs wires coil pack and crank position sensor at 165k

now 180k, crank pulley decided it was gonna start being a pain, limped it the 20 miles home, and decided to go take a peek at it last weekend. decided to take out a crank seal too.

its a 2.0 5 speed. for being a minnesota car, it has 2 spots of surface rust about the size of a nickel. the little mishap below the drivers door is paint peeled.

I put my blaster in the county fair drag races Tuesday. I was in a 0-250cc (2 and 4 stroke) class with only one other competitor who had a blaster as well. I managed to beat him both runs so I was a little satisfied since he looked to be around 150 pounds and I'm a whopping 250 pounds.

I later found out that hes running a 125cc dirt bike motor so I'm thinking I should have left him like hes sitting still since I got my highly built 247cc stroked big bore. Am I underestimating his motor or should I have beat him by more than 1 1/2 - 2 quad lengths in a 180ft drag?

^^ Yeah, his must certainly have been built.. Is yours ported etc? Jetted correctly ? There are quite a few variables. Was his bike built for drag ?

At least with autos 10lbs = 1hp, 125s are pretty high strung (30+ HP) so IMO, you actually did well, especially for such a short race..

At 250 lbs. Yer werkin that 250 hard. Im guessIng his is built too.
Yeah, I was thinking I might be underestimating that 100 pound difference as well as the 125cc dirt bike motor

Yeah its ported by KOR and in my jetting thread apparently I'm getting damn close. needle good and within 2 sizes of the right main.

Didn't know how strong the 125cc dirt bikes compared to a blaster; thanks for the info. I figured my weight would be a fairly large restraint on our small 2 strokes.

Sounds like I need to get in racing shape along with getting my blaster in shape. I always heard that if you're looking to pick up a couple HP for free then lose 10 pounds and start doing some cardio. Believe it or not, just 5 years ago I was a middleweight (160 pounds). I've filled out a little more since then but 180 pounds is still possible. I just wish I didn't love food so much lol

I'm also running a 14 tooth front sprocket on 20 tires. That 14 tooth sprocket didn't help but who knows what sprockets he ran. I also lifted the front end on the first pull and bogged the second start (both second gear starts) so neither of those starts were ideal and I'm on pretty warn tires. It was short enough I barely hit 4th gear so starts were very important.

Anybody wanna become a tractor mechanic with me?

Been parked at a neighbors house for 5-6 years. If I can get it fixed I can use it pretty much as much as I want. I know nothing about tractors or diesels. He said when he was last using it, he heard something pop, and the backhoe shifted, and the motor died. I found what popped

Gonna have to pull the tire and wheel/fender well off to get the broke off bolt out. I think the other side is only bent, not broken. The guy really knows nothin about tractors, it was his grandpa's, but grandpa is senile now. If I could get the backhoe attachment off, it should be good for anything else. Just gotta find out what preemptive work I should do before trying to start this bad boy.
