I paid 400 It's an 04. The guy had no idea what was wrong with it he said it could be stator or could be carb. He gave me the flywheel puller and shop manual and I had that biotch running in 30 min. When I got it to my house it was the stator that guy installed it wrong. The steering is perfect no play, shocks are great, I looked at the whole frame there's no dents at all. plus compression is at 135:) perfect running blaster with title:D

Be sure to leak test it, if he was trouble shooting he likely had the top end off

check torque on cylinder and head nuts

Welcome to the forum. Congrats on the great deal. Read up on how to tune and take care of it. Leak down testing and jetting are two of the best things to read up on BEFORE you run it.
 
I bought one that I thought was great, it was a beast and then it started not running so good within 2 hours. If I would have leak tested it like the guys on here mentioned before I rode it, I would have found out it had a leak and would not have had to put $400 in the engine (The guy who rebuilt it stripped the head studs and had a leaking head gasket). Take these guys advice and leak test it before you ride it. Good find!

I just built one actually, turned my compression tester into leak down tester for like 30 bucks at home depot, I'm gunna do the test tomorrow. Thanks for all the help guys. I'll let you all know if I find any leaks
