had the cylinder ported, head shaved, flywheel lightened, vf4 reeds, and pwk28 carb. Now that is outta the way I was riding it around seemed rich but ran decent. Took it with me for a little fun got there and itll start then putter and stall. Anyone think it could be the jetting 150 main and 42 pilot? No matter chock on or off does the same.

Did you do a proper break in? Replace piston after port work? Who put the motor together?A 42 pilot seems awful lean to me.I would start with a compression test and a leak down in order to rule out any leaks or problems with the motor. If that checks out then I would start inside the carb and make sure the carb is clean and the pilot is not clogged.

Was this sudden or since rebuild? Same carb as before or different/new? Carb sparkling clean? Leakdown since build? How does plug look?
Check wireing , switches, grounds, and coil mount for clean and tight, maybe add dielectric grease to connections.

i did a leakdown looks good but i didnt change the piston since port-job. Is that recommended? Its weird i was driving it around the day before. So bring the pilot up you think?

`I have met a problem similar to this before.

When you leak tested it did you flex the carby boot to see if it was cracked.

Sometimes a boot will check out fine when standing, but under vibration will leak like a sieve.

Who did your motor work? Have you talked to them? What is your elevation? Those jets could be a little lean. If it passed a leak down test then you need to do a compression test. Did you plug chop it? How many turns out is your air screw? Fresh plug? Could be a million things. Do the compression test and let us know the answers to all these questions.

wait wait wait arent you supposed to have the cylinder honed to re seat the rings cause I doubt some one who ports a motor would go the extra foot and hone a cylinder to reseat the rings. But as far as jetting goes I would guesstimate arround a 50 Pilot and keep your main the same till you see different results and or get it running. also what octane gas and plug are you using cause if the porting is extreme enough your premium gas may not be enough.

I would do a compression test and see where you are at.Your jetting is most likely off but sounds like you have low compression.A quick test will answer that.Once compression is getting low they can and will start cold and once warm they won't run.You should have also reseated those resued rings and acted as if it is a new top end and done a proper break in.I am having a hard time with the reused rings. They are reasonably inexpensive and should have been changed especially if resuing the piston.I am surprised none of this was explained to you when you had the porting done.Report back with compression test results.

dennis at flotek did the port he honed the cylinder. Im running vp110 with ams deliminator oil. I haven't looked at it in a few days been working im gonna get to it this weekend. Ill let you guys know whats up thanks for all the suggestions. Ill start with a compression test and go from there.

everything checks out good the warmer weather itll run off chock but rev and as soon as i hit the throttle its just dies. I ordered some bigger jets sound like the problem?

Hmmm, that is why I don't like doing 5 mods at once. Which one is the problem?
150 main seems much too lean to me, but I don't know the PWK28.
If you checked your plug you'd know, links here to how: http://www.blasterforum.com/engine-13/spark-plug-chop-20247/index2.html#post677241

What is with all the race gas and mods? You have to walk before you can run.

well I run a 50 pilot and 148 ab main in a 30mm oko and my engine dosent have a shaved head or lightened flywheel or serious porting by flotek.so thats my reasoning that it should be higher jetting as well compression held at what and what bore cylinder is it on?
