hey i just got a 28mm mikuni roundlside, its pretty much exactly like the stock one but a 28mm, and i put the exact same main jet in it as in my stock carb (300) but my stock carb has a 32.5 pilot and it runs perfect but this new 28mm has a 35 pilot in it and im wondering does having a bigger pilot jet affect the size of the main jet? will i be able to run the 35 pilot with my 300 main jet as apposed to a 32.5 pilot and a 300 main jet?

only that airscrew can tell you what pilot is required,
not me, not pops in aussie land, and definately not that 300 main jet.
you must jet each range seperately, starting at the bottom with the float height, and working up thru the airscrew/pilot, needle, and only then the main jet plug chops.
all the stickies needed are in the carb section

i say yes it does, a larger pilot or richer needle setting will contribute to the overall richness of the main jet/plug chop.
thats why you have to start at the bottom andf work up.

sounds like you're trying to tune the rest of that carb circuts because you only have a 300 main jet ??
not gonna happen.

ill just order a 32.5 pilot for it when i get money lol, i dont think the pilot from the stock carb works in the 28mm's and ill throw in a 310 main jet to start with since the right bend pipes need higher jetting?

no presto my man, All Pipes are different just like All motors and carb set ups are different. try the 300 and your pilot and see what the ENGINE tells you to do. if its more than 2 1/2 turns out on the air screw=smaller pilot. then try the 32.5. Run the needle on the middle clip and see what that 300 main does. the rest is up to the plug. just give the motor what it ASKS for, dont assume young Jedi!!!I:I

If a few dollars is your problem, and you are busting to ride that bad, tell me the price of the pilot and I will Paypal you the cash.

Chucking a #310 in may well work at WOT, meanwhile you are going to cook the piston getting there.

You know the rules.

Float level, idle adjust, needle setting , main jet in that order.
