Hi guys! I seriously need your help. I just installed a toomey b1 pipe kit with 310 main jet. I believe i followed all the jetting directions correctly by moving the needle clip position to the 3rd groove from the top to turning the idle air screw 3/4 turns out. The problem i think i might be having is with my air filter. I was supposed to receive a new uni air filter but haven't received it yet. So i figured i would just clean and re-oil my old filter and put it on to hear how everything sounds I:I while i wait on my new filter to arrive. I then kick started the engine and it idles soo high that i immediately have to turn it off? When cleaning the air filter with it being so old and worn that the filter foam just came off in some spots and have holes. Could this be my problem on why it is idling soo high?

first thing to check is for things that are obvious; you took the cap of the carb so maybe something is loose or not together proper. like throttle cable, tors(if attached) once youve looked at all the stuff you had apart, check for Air leaks! carb caps are prime culprits!

sounds like the carb slide was not installed with the groove aligned with the pin (it's on the kicker side of the carb)
and has to be aligned to allow the slide to drop down completely, it also helps to look into the back of the carb and insure the needle aligns and drops into the needle jet.

i wish those pipe companies would stop recommending jetting for their customers like moses himself wrote it in stone.
nobody, i repeat, nobody, can tell you what jetting your bike requires.
we can give you suggested starting points, but you MUST learn to do it own your own.

put that airscrew back to 1.5 turns out to start, and the needle clip on the middle position, and forget what Toomey, FMF, Ect. and moses have to say

check the stickies here for jetting info.........
