Hi so i sold my blaster a few weeks back but guy brought it back after saying the powerband wasnt working. so i found a air leak. fix it with a genuine yamaha gasket(metal type) and its sealed tight. but my powerband still isn't engaging. its like a 4 stroke its throttle no problem and not dying out but just won't lift or doesn't even feel like there is anything there. just don't understand it as i just done a top end on it with a new wiseco piston and rings and gaskets.

thanks

Buy a new powerband, duh!

No, just kidding... what about jetting? You have any mods on your blaster or is it stock? Try a new plug like tjsdaname said, and if it's still not right then check out jetting. Could be rich.

Did you check compression? There might have been some damage when it was sucking air and now you have some blow-by.

i haven't checked compression yet. was going to but rain was pissing down today. il check it tomorrow and see how it goes :)

lol! blaster is completely stock. only thing iv changed on engine is reeds to boyesen ones. il try a spark plug and see how it goes.

I agree, id be checking that compression. hard to say, after you sold it, they might have road it hard, ect. and it was nice of you to take it back. not sure how long they has it.

The air leak, could have caused it to run lean, and damaged the rings or piston or cylinder wall.

Now, sure other things to look at it, but my first thought is low compression.
