Kick Start Starter Gear

I had a previous problem kick starting(kick wouldn't move) my 02 blaster. Instead of removing the top end I took off the gear case first(I think that's what its called picture below). I then removed the kick starter gear. After I did this I am able to push the blaster forward and back in 6th gear. Does this indicate that the motor is not seized? If the kick start gear is the issue what could it be? All the teeth are present, nothing looks damaged the spring is there although the spring end was to the left and not in a hole where I guess it should be. Would the spring end not being in the hole cause the kick start to jam or just not spring back after kicking? Sorry if anything is unclear I am pretty new so I'll add in some pics.

Put it in neutral and try turning motor by the clutch (big round thing, lol) to be sure it turns easily/freely. Look at the spring CLOSELY, the end CAN break off. Look for the piece as it will cause major damage if it makes it's way between any gears. Even if the spring isn't broke replace it because it wont jump out of place unless it's weak/worn.

not your kickstarter dude. it looks perfect to me. I would assume you seized the motor somehow. pull the top end. and go ahead and order oem gaskets for the top end and the clutch cover.
