Bottom end question

i found that it was the clutch cover. i have the basket in right though i had sure of it, lol. i have disassembled and reassembled it like 5 times trying to figure it out. i finally found that there was two places that it was making contact with so i filed them down and it works just fine now. the resaon for taking the bottom end apart was to replace all seals and inspecting bearings. i removed the bearings and regreased them, then put them back in. just having problems getting the rings in the cylinder again. i took the piston out like a morron putting the pin in. ill post a pic tomorrow after i get home, have duty today.

The piston has ring end gap pins at about 10 o clock and 2 o clock looking toward the front of the engine. The rings are easy to compress with your fingers as long as you have them lined up with the pins on the piston.
