The Turbo Blaster Lives.....

i dont know much but i do know that most turbos are cooled with oil if u wernt cooling ur turbo u might want to this time. but i havnt read ur threads so idk if u cool it or not.

Maybe you could look into a turbo for a bobcat. My grandpa has a turbo bobcat and they are really small. The 3 cylinder geo metros or sprints had damn small turbos on them also.

can you snap more pics of your set up i dont know much about turbos id like to learn, from what i understand its basically a fan that is powered by exhaust pressure, in turn forcing alot of air through the carb..? am i close?

basically the turbo spins a way that the exhaust air comes out of the turbo faster then it goes in. You push more air into the intake and you can put more gas in to burn quicker. so yea basically you have the idea. An engine has to suck air by itself so when you force air in it can dump in more fuel.

sorry to hear it man but glad to hear you are working it out. also i was reading about you asking for a longer throttle cable. i just bought a tores eliminator kit of ebay for about 40 dollars. you might want to check ebay for the eliminator kit and it will get rid of the eletric sh*t on the carb.

A blow through set up would be a pain. Cars with a blow through set up have special carbs made for boost. Would be a beast to tune too probably. I am using a draw through set up. I think I am going to change the way I have it mounted slightly and move the carb to the back. Will have to wait and see when I get the turbo. Anyone know where I can buy some mandrel bends for tiny pipe like 1" for the exhaust, Not sure what I need for the intake side, haven't measured the size of the tubing. I wanna get these nasty looking, performance hindering cut and weld pipes outta there B). I guess I gonna have to buy a tors elim. kit too :( I could see if vitos would sell me one with a longer throttle cable.

Bummer you blew it up man. Though now you can upgrade the turbo and build a nice mandrel bent, ceramic coated setup :)

Gonna use the same turbo only diff is a internal wastegate. I am gonna do it right this time though, gonna try to find mandrel bends and stuff. Should be sweet. Dunno about the ceramic coating though. Ill powder coat the intake though. I can do that myself B).

I found one company that supposedly sells 1" mandrel bends, but when I called them and ordered it they never charged my card or sent me the part. The 1" bends are no longer listed on their site either. Thanks for calling to tell me right? Anyway, just step it up to 1 1/4 and you can find mandrel bends easy. The extra size shouldn't hurt anything, and may actually help.

ballin man! I was going to say if you could find a smaller one, you might build boost faster? Looks like you have things well taken care of though!

Yeah I found some smaller ones. I was like !!!!!!!!!! Then read the description and it said water cooled. :( Don't wanna run a watercooled turbo with no water going to it. Scared of messing it up

Thats true, there is a liquid cooling kit for Blasters available, and yours may benifit from it since it is working ALOT harder, maybe you could look into that after you get the fit and finish done? It would be worth doing to see how much cooler your engine would stay.
