    First blaster / engine rebuild

Def not something planned on. But it's too late for that. At this point either they get replaced, or a known good motor installed / else if not then it will be back apart in no time from bad bearings/seals.

ha. Trust me I know. I am careful on there. Whenever someone asks a question I refer them to this website and post a link to it! Stockers do suck! If I could afford some works I would go that route. I have been reading on aftermarket ones. There are so many options on things to do. For...

No real updates to report. So reporting the little stuff. My banshee rear hubs arrive monday. I went over the bike and double checked all bolts. I found out my carb is leaking in this process. I may need a new bowl gasket, but I think I just need a new bowl all together. Someone hit it with...

    New project

I use rubber mallets. They are OK. The metal ones seem to be the home wreckers lol. Rubber mallets and some light taps don't do any damage. I always throw a nut on the end of something so I don't hit the threads just in case. Buuut yeah, 10 years wrenching never an issue with a rubber mallot.

Glad it worked for you to man. Like i said, that stuff is like 2000 grit. Spin that Q-tip like you mean business and it cleans it right up. I just use spit to wash it out on a new q-tip. I also used it to polish the needle seat, then wiped it off real good. Cheap tricks! hahaha.

    Starting 97 Blaster Rebuild

take your needle seat out. Get some q-tips and tooth paste. Put the paste on the q tip and clean out the bore for the needle seat. Get a wet q-tip and chase in down in there. It will clean it out. Wipe off the rubber tip of the needle seat. Bet you'd be good to go after that. They just get...

Noted. Thanks for that! I can't stand that yamaha made the lug patterns what they are. Silly. Bought some Shee hubs, they should be here in a week. Gonna throw these on so I can run a normal lug pattern and wheels are easier to find. I already have some ITP rims and tires. So this will...

    recommended oil for transmission

Yeah. I had my engine out. All the fluid was out except the residual on everything. I put the engine back in teh bike and added some oil. Not very much, just a tiny bit. and it read full on the site glass. Here's the problem. The gasket for the clutch cover goes ABOVE the case. There is one...
