    It’s all in pieces right now. Sorry for the confusion but I stated about the shifting problem and the shift rod moving in and out. You stated the clutch cover holds it in. That didn’t make sense to me but the clutch basket kind of holds it in so that’s why I asked that. 2 different problems...

    Will do on the balancer gear. Between the movement of the shift rod and the drum they will move far enough apart to where the star does not make contact with the fork. So your trying to shift but it’s not doing anything.

    Agreed. I plan on replacing all the bearings and seals. Once everything is back together I will check for play. But my biggest problem is the shifting. Don’t understand how I have so much in and out play on the shift rod.

    It’s all apart now. The markings on the case look like it was rubbing recently or the one who did the rebuild filed it down. Don’t know why one would do that tho. Balancer had scoring where it was/is making contact

    They really don’t. Motor was supposed to be completely rebuilt. Had a shifting problem so I drained the fluid which was silver color. Started breaking it down to investigate. Most parts appear like new condition. Can’t figure out why the shift rod has to much in and out play. Had someone...

    awk question for you. I just split the case on my bottom end and the crank bearing is ceased on the crank. Not pressed into the housing. Is that normal? everything i have seen or read shows them in the case half. Thanks!

    The lever on the master cylinder has to be at zero. So I adjusted linkage so that there was absolutely no pressure. Crack bleeder then engage fully then close bleeder. Repeat 3-4 times.     Yeah very tuff to bleed. I got some good info from the dealer I got the rebuild kits from and was finally able to bleed them. Took the blaster out for some test trials and good news brakes work great. Bad news I now have a shifting problem..... ‍ggrrrr
