i know for sure it isnt an exhaust leak and pretty positive its a lifter

well my 1999 f150 4.2l has a knock in the top end, im pretty sure its a lifter but does anyone know how hard it is to replace one??

chain isnt old just got all wet and i fried the top end just got done rebuilding it and saw this hole

ok so i went out to fix a broken stud that hold the cylinder on. anyway i found that i had this (picture below) and a gasket under it and there was also a gasket on the cylinder part too. but my gasket kit only came with one like this so my question is do i need the one in the first...
