I noticed I got an air leak on my cylinder base gasket so I'm gonna replace it..my ?? Is should I use rtv copper for extra insurance with the gasket?? Opinions plz

Factory Yamaha or Cometic base gaskets only
no green, blue, black paper, chiwanese gaskets
proper heat cycles and retorque head and base gaskets = no sealant needed

I don't have to replace the head gasket with it do it?? And what's the proper heat cycle for the blaster??

You don't have to replace the head gasket if you anneal it before reinstalling.........

Do 3 heat cycles,, I never used a temp gun but until I couldn't hold my hand on the cylinder for more than a few seconds without getting burnt,
after the 3rd heat cycle/cool down, retorque the head and base nuts.

If you didn't remove the head you won't have to replace or anneal it, oem gaskets are best, never used any copper on a base gasket, I use yamabond4 on the reeds/gaskets and cases.
