New to the forum, also new to doing a full rebuild. Always have done just topends. Bought a Clymer's book and started in on it. Got a 2000 Blaster that I chose to put a non ported Vito's +3mm crank and BBK in along with new bearings and seals. For the sole reason of drag racing my neighbors relatively stock and worn out 400ex, he's always dogging on my Blasters lol. $1000 on the win and $500 on a gap, yes I had several adult beverages at the time. Did a oil injection delete kit, deleted the TORS. Pro Circuit Pipe idk the ### and DG Type II silencer #155631. Vito's carbon flex dual stage reeds in the stock cage, spacer, Upp 34mm intake boot, Brand new genuine Mikuni 34mm round slide VM series carb #VM34168, 35 pilot - air screw is 2 out, middle clip on a 6DH4 needle, needle jet is a Q-2 159 series, main jet is 360. I have pilot jets 15-37.5 and main jets 290-380. 4" 15° Uni Pod filter. New 1/4 fuel line and new petcock. Mixing Klotz KL-200 at 32:1. Stock gearing, 21" generic Holeshots. Have 22" tires and 14 - 38 gears, 400ex rear shock to play with and find the best combination for a straight line. Bought a used KOR 240 high comp head that I planned on putting on after break-in and getting the jets tuned in. Everything was relatively simple with rebuilding this engine piece of cake really. Starts up, runs, no weird noises or fluctuations. Runs rich on bottom end which I'm good with. 1/4 to 3/4 throttle is spot on atm. Top end gets lean very lean with the 360 jet and the plug shows that but is to rich to rev out with the 380 jet. Makes me think my needle is the wrong size effecting the main? I haven't done a leak down test yet, just built a test rig today and gotta buy a bicycle pump as well. Won't be messing with it till I get it tested of which should have been already done. Yes it has the newer 03 and up front plastic on it. Thoughts on this contraption?

Sounds like a fun build! Have you raced him before?
No haven't raced him before. Before all this my stock 88 Blaster and this 2000 hadn't seen daylight in years. He was talking up his 400 like usual, I said bud I'll get mine out and operational and gap that 400. He took the bait and I started ordering go fast parts.

Haha sounds fun. I’m along for your rebuild ride.. I’m in the middle of building up my 1999 right now. Not doing any go fast mods. Everything I’m doing is for suspension, and just things I have always wanted when I was a kid but never had the money. Still have the quad.. now I have money. And I have kids so it’s getting handed down but a major upgrade.

No not at all.. I refuse Facebook myself so I just lurk the old forums.. I just wish I knew how to post up pics.

Lean pilot out a size and reset air screw. To take care of rich running on the low end.
Should have ported the cylinder.that would really make the big bore shine. The big bore without porting is not all that.
Maybe a 38 rear sprocket from vitos

I'm good with the pilot rich atm. It's the

Hindsight is 20-20 but yes I should have had it ported. Still a huge improvement over my other stock Blaster. It's a night and day difference when you jump off one straight to the other. I've rode stock Blasters so long I never really realized how slow they were. I'm good with it being rich on bottom end right now the lean top end part is what I'm worried about. Lick down test came back perfect no loss of pressure whatsoever. Ordered a 370 main to split the 360 leans and 380 rich.

What carb and mods are you running that you need a 360 jet  ?
Nothing special just a Vito's BB Stoker kit, Vito's Reeds, A real Mikuni VM34, DG Type 2 silencer and a Pro Circuit pipe. Leak down test came back good. Pumped it up to 7 psi it dropped 1/2 psi right off the bat but held that 6 1/2 psi for over 30 minutes no drop. Compression is 140. I'm new to this jetting thing. Plug chop came back white just today. But I turned off the gas while changing to new plug and forgot to turn it back on. By third it was sputtering out of gas turned it back on eventually hit 5th and held it for 10s pulled in clutch and turn it off. So I'm gonna redo that chop tomorrow as I'm sure that messed up the reading. It's gotta be rich by everything I've read.
