Hey guys I already had a thread but I’m going to clean it up and start a new one. First of all I traded 2 guns for this blaster. Rode it for a day, wicked pinging in top end, so I shut it off, started it up and it was fine. Later that day my blaster blew riding full throttle. No compression. I took off the head and my piston rings were fine, but it looked like pieces of a ring fused to the top of the piston. I brought it to be bored and honed and chamfered. That’s ready for pickup. Upon inspection of the bike as recommended on here I realized a few things!! One that I did not have a stock carb!! I need to buy one and I want as close to the original I can get. I DO NOT HAVE A TORS so I’m not sure what kind of carb to get. This is my first wheeler. When I went to go pickup the head I asked if he could check the bottom end and split my cases up and redo everything that looked bad and clean it up. I don’t have a oil injection anymore I mix my gas. I do have a air leak in my carb as that hose was not plugged from the oil injector from the previous owner. List of my mods include Dg exhaust, just silencer, no tors, premix gas. I don’t want to have my engine being reliable and have a fake minuki carb. Please help me out as I hope to get this running within the next few weeks !

Where the debris came from. Splitting the cases is the right thing to do. Doing 2 post cause it's not letting me finish the first.
Fresh cylinders are sexy.

If you do or do not have tors is not a concern when picking the correct carburetor. A tors elimination cap fits standard carb so seeing that you do not have tors then I assume that you will have a tors elimination cap. A factory carb is your best option and the least expensive one as well. Now there are plenty of other carbs you can get but then again you do not have enough mods to justify spending money on one.

If your only upgrades are tors elimination and that dg silencer then depending on your elevation you should be right around the factory jetting, I would guesstimate somewhere around a 230 to 240 main at see level mixing at 32.1 stock jetting is 220 main and 32.5 pilot, that’s with the airbox lid in place. See if someone has a carb for sale here or check fleebay to see if they have one available that’s in good shape.

So bad news I cannot get my swing arm bolt out!! So I cant take the engine off to get the bottom end looked over. I literally mushroomed the bolt it effin ain’t moving. I’m pissed, I spent 4 hours trying. Is it possible to get a new carb ?? I’m out of ideas on that bolt. Once I get it running I’d like to put more mods.

It can be upsetting at times but don’t let it get to you. For the swingarm, remove the forward and bottom engine mount bolts, make sure to support the engine from underneath. Since you destroyed the swinger bolt you will need to get a new one and or used one from fleebay. Take an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel and carefully cut off the end that you mushroomed. Heat both ends of the bolt then spray both ends of the swinger bolt and swinger joints with PB blaster, repeat this step a few times. Take a large punch or socket extension that you no longer want and a dead blow hammer and hit it till she gives. Sometimes it works better if you unbolt the shock and have someone work the swinger up and down while you hammer.

On the carb, yes, it is possible to get/buy a new genuine carburetor from an oem supplier. Try RockyMountain and or Ron Ayers oem between those two you should be able to get everything you need.

Good luck and keep us posted on how everything goes.

You may need to replace the swinger bushings and bearings and seals? Inspect. To make sure roller bearings are not broken.
To much heat will destroy the seals. Definitely use waterproof grease on pivot shaft when installing new one. Lack of grease= stuck pivot bolt. Have patience they can be a pain in the azz when rusted in like yours

Oh he’s going to need new swinger bearings and seals, there’s no doubt about that. If it’s to the point to where he mushroomed the bolt hitting it with a hammer then there rusted together. I have seen this same thing hundreds of times and every single one needed them replaced. To be honest I’ve had them so stuck on some quads (400ex) that the only way that I could get them out was with using a torch to heat both ends and apply penetrating oil.

Maybe he can salvage his but I doubt it.

I agree with that 100% every dirt bike guy around here does seem to take care of them pretty decently. Quads are a whole other situation though, every one I get in here seems beat to nothing then they act surprised when I tell them it needs more then they thought it needed.

No luck yet, I haven’t touched her. Hoping to try on Thursday!
Taking a break. A:D. You will get it. Just be careful not to mushroom end. Bigger than shoulder area on pivot bolt. As it will catch in bushings inside swinger.

I already mushroomed it I need to cut off the part I mushroomed and then idk what to do cut it out or cut the head off too and then try pushing it through the other side. Definitely needed a break lol

I had just taken mine out yesterday. It was seized/rusted so bad on the roller closest to the bolt head that I had to cut the bolt in half. And even after that, the head side of the bolt was still seized. A little more heat, hammering, and pb blaster and it finally gave.

Have you hit it with penetrating oil will it's been sitting.if you have air tools. Use a 1/2 impact in pivot bolt back and forth the see if it may free up some. Like what was mentioned before.might have to heat it up to expand pivot bolt.hit it with penetrating oil and when it cools it will contract back
Down and break the rust ussualy. Works good. On big bolts
