Ok so I'm having a hard time understanding my issue. I bought a blaster a year ago in a busy City so it didn't open it up past 3rd gear. Later found out 5th gear acted like another neutral. Split cases and replaced trans gears, shafts and forks. Noticed there were 2 ball bearings which was funny. I put it back together with one ball the correct way and adjusted clutch. Seemed fine till I warmed it up then it loosened and I had to tighten it even more. Examined the basket and it seemed like pulling the clutch cable pushed my shaft, bearing and basket over alittle. It was also missing the small half circle plate that surrounds the bearing. I put it back together and all was good. All 6 gears and driving fine, about 10 hours of riding and a couple months go by and all of a sudden 5th gear gone again! Also sluggish in 6 now. Is my clutch shaft bearings going bad and loosening? Will replacing them keep everything tight? Do you think the clutch shaft is pushed to far and causing my gears to misalign? Maybe the 2 bbs was a spacer Jerry rig to get it sold?

Do you have the cupped washer and flat washers in correctly behind clutch basket.i ask because you said there is movement .

Also the thick wash between clutch basket and inner hub. Its a thrust washer.check for wear

I haven't tore it down yet but I will keep you updated when I get a minute to tear apart. I believe all washers are correct but I've been wrong before.

Is it possible for the whole shaft/assembly to move if the bearing is worn out?
They are ball bearings.so it would have to be pretty worn .in which case you should have noticeable up and down or side to side movment also.somthinf is allowing movment. If. Clutch basket is moving.missing washer?
