I've been having problems on my rear brakes on my blaster for a couple months now, and today i decided to take the caliper apart to see what was wrong. I inspected the brake pads and saw that they were too close together so i got a screw driver to try to pry them apart. Every time i do this they still keep locking up. Can anyone help me out?

I just adjusted mine today so its fresh in my mind. First I took off the side cover and checked everything was in place. Then that little white gear take it off and on the backside of that whole piece there is a threaded part that the white gear turns. Turn that threaded part in and put you white gear back on. Turn the white gear a couple clicks (to push that threaded part out a little) and then put it back together. Now adjust your cable with the adjuster.
I know it probably doesn't make sense but once you open it up you'll see what Im talking about.
Hope this helped.

i spent all week tuning and cleaning the inside of my caliper, and thats all it needed...after that i greased up the side of the brake pad and it works just fine now.

My rear brake was not working and when it would grab it would lock up. The frist thing that you need to do is get a shorty brake cable. you can get a motion pro one off of ebay for less than $35.00 shipped. Next clean out your brake really well. Adjust the brake like Busted Warrior explained. Make sure you pack plenty of grease into the caliper. Also make sure that you dont tighten the 3 allen screw too much because that will also make the brake lock up. Hope this helps.

How do ik if everything is in place?

The unfortunately you can't just buy parts to the insides of our calipers, it appears you have to buy a whole unit.
I've tried to find parts, but if you desperately need it, size one up at Home Depot or Lowes.

As for brakes working correctly, I just adjust mine until the pads "appear" to touch, but don't drag on the rotor.

How do you adjust them?
