Yeah that box cost more than some of those cars you had in the past
...you're not entirely wrong :D
The only three vehicles that were more expensive than my box are:
- 2002 Toyota 4Runner SR5
- 2006 VW Passat 2.0T
- 2008 Saturn Astra XE
- 2008 Saab 9-3 SportCombi 2.0T

You got balls for owning a KX500.
I rode a CR500 once in my life. It was a kid's dad's bike and occasionally Mike would bring it down to our buddy Matt's place. I never rode a dirtbike at that point in time since I was still in high-school and only rode ATV's. Mike looked at me with this stupid smile he used to make when he was up to something and said "Dan, you ride a 450, why don't you try this 500?" I got on, cracked that throttle in first and damn near flipped a MINT 1991 CR500. I thankfully caught the bike completely 90 and walked it back to Mike.

A 500 i think is too big for single track riding to let the bike ride at full potential.my last 250. Had good lowend grunt and was fast enough for me

I'm a firm believer in "any bike is a dirtbike."

Last weekend, my buddy Jordan and I had our dual-sports on single-track trails. He's on an XR650L (not to be confused with the insane desert bashing XR650R) and I'm on a WR250R (not to be confused with the woods bike, the WR250F).

We kept crossing paths with some guys on KTM 300 TPI's and Husqvarna 250 TE's. They kept looking at us like we were insane because we kind of are. We make deal with what we got and on what tires we have.

If you over power the trail you are going to wear yourself out on a longer ride.it took me a while to figure that out.i was in denial:rolleyes:
