In your 4th picture of the shift star the arm with the roller. Should be under the shift star not on the pins sticking out. Do you still have stator side case off?

I figured it was suppose to go under but I’m having trouble get it to stay under the gear for some reason but yes I have the stator side case off.

I asked about the case half because. That holds. The hole shift drum/star from moving.its just on a bearing .did you have the forks and drum out?the arm off with the roller on the end out.usualy you would split cases from clutch side.

would you recommend me putting the stator side back on so it doesn't move back any? i did have the forks and drum out i followed the manual on where each forks should go. everything seems to be in the right place but that arm with the roller which wont stay under the star after everything is tightened up.

Is the shift star hitting the case if so it's not in the case all the way.find out why.if you had the arm with the roller off is it on correct.that bolt has a shoulder on it.it can catch and not tighten correctly.that will keep it out to far.

sorry for such a late response works been busy but, i finally got the time today to mess with it and i found my problem. the arm with the roller on it was backwards with the roller part on the outside and not on the inside closer to the star. i didnt realize that until i looked thoroughly at it. but thank you for the suggestions i really appreciate the help!
