2001 yamaha blaster wouldn't stay idling unless thumbing the throttle, rode it like that for a day, next day went to take her out and died on me 5 mins into the trail. Wouldn't start back up. Ive cleaned the carbs and jets twice now in the past week. Do you guys think my carb is junk? Or maybe reeds, air leak of some sort. I dont know im new to these things. Help would be very much appreciated, just points in the right direction of my possible problem

check the reeds for cracks, chips, broken petals

hows the air filter ? clean and oiled with the correct oil (paper or foam oil) ?

check your airscrew setting, should be around 1.5 turns out, then fine tune allowing 10-20 seconds between 1/4 turns either way, until you find where it idles the highest, then reset idle screw to desired rpms.

I will check the reeds, and air filter is clean and correct oil. I have not messed with airscrew or idlescrew setting. I will try that, exhaust also smokes white/grey smoke. Bogs down and dies almost instantly when trying to go in any gear. I press the throttle and it’ll just die and not rev or anything. Does not have any power, it was riding fine day before. Carb cleaned and spark plug changed. I forgot that add the part about smoking and dying on me when i press the throttle hence why im bringing it up now. Hope to hear back again to avoid spending shop fees for a diagnostic. Thanks in advance man I appreciate your help
