When i replaced the clutch discs and installed the pressure plate when I try to make the adjustment using the center screw It seems like there is not enough bolt to tighten properly. What am I doing wrong??

Yes the cable is off the actuator and the ball bearing is between the two rods.Is the ball bearing in there between the 2 rods ?
sounds like it might have rolled out or got lost while you worked on it
are you adjusting it with the cable off the actuator and aligning the pointer to notch ?
you dont have your plates in correctly. there is a washer spring the diameter of the inside basket that has to be in right. there is one clutch plate that has a bigger inside diameter than the other plates that one has to be on the outside of the spring washer. i believe it goes clutch plate metal disc, spring washer and the bigger inside diameter clutch plate. the metal disc, clutch plate ect.
