First let me say y'all have a great forum with a ton of information. I really didn't research the Yamaha Blaster before picking one up, I was just looking for a bike that my son (12) and I could rebuild but I have been pleasantly surprised with how much of a following this model has. Its a 1998 and Im sure I will have a mountain of questions in the coming weeks and months but just wanted to join up and say hi before I started bombing the boards with ludicrous questions. Thanks for reading my post

Come on in and all the questions you want. This Forum has great information and the Moderators are highly knowledgeable about the Blaster. They helped me get my wreck going strong! Welcome.

Welcome !!!
Answers are free. Correct ones will cost you :D
FYI the search function works great on here.
That doesn't mean you can't ask questions.
Sometimes it's hard to get the right search term

I am in the same boat. However I am not a ebay guy. It's hard to decipher what is genuine , knock off etc. I want to build a solid trail rider with my son . Any one have straight forward places to order thumb throttle , carb, a arm rebuild kit ( bushings etc ) or extended kit , axle , carrier bearings, new front and rear shock.

Vitos performance has a-arm bushings and alot of other parts. Rebuilding the stock carb is your best bet.mostly they just need a good disassemble and clean. Parts are seldom needed. Jetsrus has everything you could need for carb parts. They have a good website. There are other places also just look them up.
As for rear shock the 400ex honda shock is cheap and easy to install with a ken oconner
Racing bushing kit. For the top.its cheap. Shock works way better than. Blaster shock

The more I look I dont believe i have a stock carb. Stocks have the pull out choke as where I have a lift lever choke. Any recommendations where to get a "stock" carb. I'm also looking for a banshee axle and hubs. I'll be checking the for sale thread. . .
