The back brake on my 99 blaster is not working because the owner before me lost some of the parts. Should I buy the same kind of brake or should I try to put a hydraulic brake on it?

HYDRO FTW!!! I grew up on my dad's 88 with cable brakes and I just thought it was normal to have sh*tty brakes. I now own an 04 and the brakes are a million times better and my riding is a lot better because of it.

A Warrior rear hydro setup could be had cheàp on eBay or CL. Don't need different disc. Doesn't matter if both disc and caliper are floating.. Have to make caliper bracket. 1/4 thick. If you get dimensions little off, that's where the floating disc helps. Look at pics of 03+ master cylinder mount and copy. Same with pedal. Long hose on Warrior resi will allow you to mount resi up under seat to right of top shock mount, there's even a tab right there for mounting. FTW !!

Hey I got the hydro conversion and tried to make something work yesterday and realized myself I needed to make a brake bracket for the caliper could u point me in the direction of a pic of a bracket for an idea so I can make a bracket and a link to a detailed post about the conversion setup I can’t find any posts but I know I’m not looking in the right spots thanks

Not only do you need to make a mount for the caliper but also for the master cylinder and most likely to extend the pedal. It's a bit of work but simple enough if you can weld and fabricate yourself. I prefer to swap to a 03-06 blaster or the almost +4 banshee axle when doing the swap. I prefer to have the caliper float and not the axle. You can get an 03-06 carrier and will come with the mount for the hydraulic caliper to be bolt on. Again you may have to get a newer blaster or shee axle. Many of ways to skin the cat here but in my experience pads wear down very fast with a floating axle with hydraulic caliper.
