so i am really in dier need of one just for now to put my head gasket on corectly and not hvae a leak. so if anyone would please lmk if i can borrow one perferably with a 3/8 drive, that would be awesome! pm me pls.

The "loaner" programs most often don't include the really specialty tools like 3/8" torque wrenches unfortunately....
I have one and you're welcome to it but to pay for the ride back and forth, you'd be halfway to buying one for yourself. It's really only economical if someone in NJ close-by has one you can use.

OMG for like the 100th time. i tried and my mom's bf brough it home, but the lowest it went was 30ftlbs, and it was 1/2" dive. i dont have any sockets with 1/2.
alright let me look on shmebay and see wht i can find, if not, i will take you on that!
Cheap tools are like cheap cars, they're gonna break and they're gonna leave you in a tight spot when they do but this may be the best option:

Cough cough, You knocked some dust off this ole thread. But to answer the question I have an expensive torque wrench and one of the cheap $20 ones and I haven't had an issue with the cheap one yet. Then again I don't use it as often as the other but when I do it does the job..

And I just need to get me a smaller one I have one that goes down to 30lbs but I need 18 and whatnot.. I'll definitely be back to your house before this puppy is back together

What do you guys think about the "old" style torque wrenches with the bending bar dial? I have a new one but just wondering if you guys think the old style is accurate, I have one of those also.
Its simple i think. they work but i dont know how accurate they are?
i have the click stop which is nice, but sometimes i wonder if you arnt over-tightening with that because it still tightens after the click
there are some electronic ones that i think stop tightening once they reach torque? not 100% sure but i know digital ones are expensive

Ive borrowed an electric snap-on one before it was NICE. it just makes a little ding noise when you get to your desired torque and vibrates if you go over.
