Got the weird sounds figured out. piston hit head gasket

i got a few more pictures since i have the cylinder removed

ordered new studs and base gasket. could this be a +4 crank? how could i find out?

aight so i got the head gasket trimmed and re-fit. also installed a new oem base gasket which was thinner but the piston will not hit the head luckily.
i rented a compression tester again and read 155 psi this time so i assume it was the thinner gasket.

i threaded the clutch cover bolt holes that were stripped on the bottom, so now she holds oil good and is a pain to take the cover off but whatev

with a gusset in the back corner of the frame, my cfm will not fit perfect so im drilling out the gusset but do not have a 3/4" bit. i have a 5/8" and thats where im at. i will ask my welding teacher tomorrow if i can borrow a 3/4" if he has it. if not i will be mounting it with a washer through the hole and it will be fine

so plan is to run it tomorrow. its all back
 
I was a little concerned about the amount of material left between them and the windows, a crack waiting to happen, methinks!

I compared prices between them and my preferred builder, and porting charges were way different. Mine $175 the one pictured $300.
 
guess i never updated this.

cause of no spark - bad CDI unit

i got an 03+ CDI and modified it for the older model, really simple
running with all my own parts now and just running a few wires tomorrow.

i decided to throw the CDI inside my airbox, so i got that mounted and need to shorten the wires tomorrow.
might do during lunch, wont take long, other than the solder i bought is garbage imo, we will see
