has anyone else noticed, but the pipe on blastersaurus runs down and exits the shifter side ?????

that was "phragles" blaster, he won the baja 1000 on it in his class !!!!
and i believe he has since sold or parted it out, i know it was for sale, minus a motor for like $1800

nice :) glad to see a blaster win in the Baja haha... thats like my biggest dream tho... just to race in baja.... i dont even care about winning, just want to make it with out broken body or bike :p

it's definitely a difficult thing to even survive. something that you have to put everything you have in to.

I would also like to do that someday, but I think that I'd have to do it in the VW class. otherwise I would probably do something like this:

It sounds fun but it's not really. It takes a large physical and mental toll on you. Your driving a 1000 miles on ruff terrain as fast as you can go. Your mind is going at full speed calculating what speed you should be for the terrain , what line to take , stressing out about being stuck behind a slower car that you can't pass . I don't think the average person could finish the race.

naaaa i would do it in the atv class.... if u can ride an atv in 1000 miles of baja, that says something about u lol

I would agree. but can you ride for 24 hours straight? through the harshest, nastiest terrain you can think of? in the heat of the desert?

I would love to try someday, I'm almost sure I could never do it on a quad, plus a couple people die every year on a bike or quad during the 1000.....so that's a testament to how dangerous it actually is

yuppp, but think about the accomplishment it would be just to finish the race... and belive it or not, but some dirt bikes and quads auctally came in top 10 places overall....

I would try it no doubt about it. Even if I only made it half way I could still say that I raced in the Baja. But if I did the Baja 1000 here's my weapon of choice....

" Anybody can trail ride the 1000 miles , but to be competative .... "
That's a quote from that Movie , I've watched it a thousand times and its just as good as the 1st time .
I've talked to many desert racers ( BITW Series ) and I still have it in my head to run the 1000 , and the biggest obstacle everyone has said ( Including Phragle ) is pit support . As a privateer you don't have the dedicated pit support that the factory or big money private teams have , so everything from a logistical stand point is exponentially harder . There are companies that you can pay to use their pit services so you have your fuel , tires , and mechanical support there , BUT they provide only so many stops , and if you have a break down out in the desert between pits , you won't have someone to come look for you. It's not something you would ever be able to do by yourself , I've got a few riding friends that also want to either run it , or help us by running our own pit crew . These days Mexico is a scary place , all the violence and murders by the cartels , it's just another thing you have to think about when going there .
I know my purpose for going wouldn't be to win overall , it would be for the experience , it would be for the memories and it would be for the challenge to see if I could build a bike that can finish , and also if this old guy could be able to walk the next day . I know I'd have about a hundred SD Cards and 3 Go Pro Cameras strapped to me and my Banshee so I had every second to be able to watch over and over again .
Maybe if theres anyone here on the forum that would like to start a serious discussion about putting together a team and support for it , we could start a topic and start kicking around Ideas and so forth . afterall nothing ever happends unless you do something about it.
