Well ok, I am now starting to get bored with the power of a blaster. I know there are lots of upgrades to get it ripping but i want some real power. I am intreseted in doing a superbike engine swap, something like a gsxr or a r1 engine or something. Something with some real power. Has anybody done this and finished the project? And after seeing the blaster quad with a ninja engine i am now really siked up about doing this.

Thank's much appreciated

u would be better off with a 600 motor like from a r6....do some searches on google and u tube...its been done

Okay well i have done some research and i can pick up a r1 or a r6 engine for around £400-600. I know it has been done in a blaster but i might just buy a banshee and try the engine transplant into that. I would love to do it into a blaster but i think it might be to hard?

thanks carl

I've seen several online, most being 600's. The frame has to be raised in the gas tank area to fit the motor in there, and there is definately a lot of other areas that will have to be dealt with, such as a longer swingarm, gearing, and adding supports to the frame to strengthen it up. The finished product would definitely be very fun to ride.

on youtube look up yfz450 r1, thats the nastiest one i've seen, sounds sooooo sick

Well ok thanks guys. Im soon going to be buying a 05 Raptor 660 thats for sale up the road and then i am going to buy a Yamaha R1 that has been in a accident and then the project will start. :D

Don't worry i am keeping barry the blaster

gatta think about some power to weight ratios here what do you want to get out of it cause if you put a street bike engine in there then your going to lose alot of your ability to go off road with it..
have you considered just getting the raptor 660 and upgrading it cause a 660r is an entirely different animal when it comes to power compared to the blaster..

I know the thread is dead, but I'm almost finished with a KZ440 LTD motor swap into a blaster. Fit pretty well, I cut the frame of the KZ440 LTD with the motor mounts and welded the neck to the blaster, then made some adapter plates to bolt the frame of the KZ to the blaster at the foot pegs.

Also ordered a custom 530 sprocket, then did a hydraulic rear caliper conversion. Cant wait for spring to take it out. KZ440 LTD has about 40hp stock. This one has a stage 1 jet kit and K&N air filter pods.

Just have to finish making a gas tank, new tires, nitrogen shocks, and a couple other little things.
