I bought a 2000 Yamaha blaster the other week guy said it just needed a new spark plug and showed me a video of it running so I believed him I got a new spark plug cleaned the carb and it didn't start I then tested the power and it stops at the coil so went to the shop to have them test the coil on there machine and the coil was fine but the spark plug isn't getting spark this guy said to unhook the box on the right that's metal (not the CDI) didn't start WHATS WRONG!

the main electrical problems are the stators.
search that they like oem stators not 30 dolla ones of ebay:)
if person before you bought a cheap stator offline
then more then likely that is your problem....If indeed there is no spark/or spark at wrong time/timing key on flywheel cranko_O
the specs are in the free manual as well:cool:
it has been written 10,000 times on here search
or you could even rebuild the coils on the stock with quality coils.

Remove plug cap, cut 1/4" off wire , install cap. Remove coil, clean ground, install coil. Lastly, bypass ignition switch and kill switch. If switch is defective fix or replace. At least the kill.
