Which Way's Up - Head Gasket

Just got my cylinder bored and honed. Cylinder base gasket has a sealer strip on it and manual says strip faces down (on cases) but the copper head gasket has the surface point that faces forward but no up marking. How can I tell which way is UP.

According to the manual, the arrow points towards the exhaust port and the big "bulge" side goes towards the clutch side of the engine.

that base gasket with the sealing strip, i'm assuming is green paper ?
ditch that for a black factory yamaha or cometic gasket.
a few of us have had troubles with the green paper gaskets "sucking in" causing an airleak = boom

Bump to say thanks for info. Putting top end on my old 88 blaster. Only it’s second piston!
