Unusual combo jetting

Vito's Super Stock piston = +10 main jet sizes

All this talk about jetting lately made me remember this thread  !
And we all hate no final answer
Anyway ended up with a 260 main, stock pilot , needle middle clip.
I realize that this was an odd ball combination. The SS Piston was the cheapest one I could get from Vito's (dealer pricing).

Biggest thing I learned was that the stock pipe was another "trick" Yamaha used to detune the Blaster. It had AUSOME bottom end, but just as the revs built up ,,. and expecting the 2strole smile it would fall on its face. It just wouldn't rev
any higher. Thus you had to shift, there is no way you can over rev with a stock pipe.

For those that don't know the Super Stock piston is a forged piston made by Wiseco. It has a cut-away on the exhaust side that is similar to a port job but not quite as good.
If the exhaust port has been raised I would not use this piston, you'll be to peaky.

AFTER witnessing the pie cutted piston exhaust DAMAGE i would not buy one.
it just seems thos plus 5hp:eek: pie cutted pistons create to much heat on the exhaust side then
BOOM $500 BUCKS NOT 5 HP LOL:D
Then again there are a lot of geniuses posting images and problems on here lol:confused:
