I am a little new to this, I just brought my first blaster a couple of weeks ago so I am still learning. But I have ridden my 4-wheeler twice in the woods and I want to go sunday but I want to make sure my motor is up to par. I went and brought a new air filter (k&N), new spark plug, going to do an oil change, and clean the carbs out. How many times should I be doing all this stuff to my blaster? the air filter I am just going to keep cleaning that out, I heard I should be a cover on it but I'm not sure about that. Also is there anything else I should be going to make sure my motor is running strong?

i change my oil, plug and clean my filter every other ride. i dont know how often you should, but i do every other ride just to be safe. and you could check for air leaks, check compression... i dont know what else

you dont need to change your oil that often, just a waste of money. i change mine about every other month or sooner if i ride alot. i would say i have over 30hrs before it gets changed. just check it often to make sure you dont have a leak or anything. i would suggest getting a magentic drain plug if you can find one. it will help keep any metal shaving from getting into parts they are not wanted.
but clean your filter often. and check your plugs before every ride. change them if they needed.

An Outerwears pre-filter is nice (K&N makes one too), it cuts down on cleaning frequency. If you want to run no air-box cover, then you will need to check your jetting and possibly (most likely) richen it up a bit.

shoulda bought a uni filter, ahah. Basically clean the air filter every few rides, more so if its dusty, change the case oil monthly or so, but keep an eye on it so you don't run out, and only change plugs if I have to.

What do you guys mean by richen up the jets... I read something about it but it sound complicated

first of all you'll need to do plug chops to see if the jets need richened up
