I am not receiving email notifications regarding my subscribed threads, does this have to do with the new server thingy??

If cbaber changed hosts, it could have something to do with the server. I had a similar problem with forgotten passwords when I migrated. Give it a couple days to see if he gets it straightened out or if it does it on it's own. I:I
