Hello all from NY. New to Yamaha Blasters and asking for any advice on problem areas, things people change etc. The blaster isn't running the guy said it was a carb issue, so wondering best way to clean it. Also I thought oil was supposed to be mixed in gas but he had the oil in the oil tank under seat? Thank you all and I look forward to getting her running and getting good with these fun machines. Pic for attention

Hi and welcome. Yes that is right the 2 stroke oil goes in the tank under the seat. you also have transmission oil that's in the gear box that is totally different. is there a hose on the kick starter side of the engine going from the engine to the side of the carb?

Looks like you have a FMF exhaust and missing the front fenders. Any more photos of the quad.

Yes it has an FmF gold series exhaust. The front fenders are there they are just cut. I will get back to you on that hose after work but I believe it isnthere

Now I see them lol Not much of the fender there.

Maybe get the parts below:

Plastic heal guards or after market alloy ones. (You do NOT want you foot slipping and going into that back wheel.)
Front tyres (No grip on the ones you have.)

Clean air filter or buy new one.

Clean carb and write down the jet sizes and needle position, Check flout height. Look here: http://www.blasterforum.com/threads/float-heights-and-how-to-adjust-them.50565/

Wow thanks for all that ! I plan on getting started tonight! Hopefully it doesn't take much to get her running, then I can focus on making her look nicer.
