Hi all,
I am looking for the measurements for a Blaster Crank.
A diagram showing specs/measurements would be great if anyone has one.
Or if someone feels like getting out the micrometer.........
Thanks guys,
Jamie- Australia

if you are wondering if it fits in a dt200 there was a guy on here a while ago that used blaster internals on his dt200.

Small end freeplay: Put the shaft on a set of bench centers or in a lathe( I know we all have these) with the pin on the bottom. Measure the side to side play with an indicator. Spec is .031 - .039 ( inches ). Another way is to use V blocks or a vice ( last resort ).

Big end side to side: The best way to do this is with a feeler gage. Slide it between the side of the rod and the washer. Spec is .016 - .028

Big end radial: This is the up and down play in the rod. The spec calls out
.0008 - .0014. I don't trust this spec! Pull the rod all the way to one side and pick it up and down, if you feel any play, rebuild the crank.

Hope this helps

hi there,
Do you know if it was the DT200L or DT200R model?
They are different motors. L model is piston port,
R model case reed induction. i.e no port windows in the piston
I believe that most guys over there that have done the engine conversion in their Blasters more than likely used the L motor.
I have contacted Vito's Performance, and received a reply stating that the LH side of the crank assembly is the same (as the DT200R) however the RH side is different.
I only have pics of the Blaster Crankshaft to go on, but it appears that the primary gear shaft is slightly shorter.
I need to know how much shorter.
If someone could supply me with the crankshaft dimensions, it would be very much appreciated. (vito's could not or would not supply me with the dimensions)
oh yeah, Is the primary gear that drives the clutch helical or straight cut on the Blaster?
I would be grateful for any help.
Thank you- Jamie, Australia

i have no idea man, it was one of those members (like you lol) that popped in for a quick tidbit of info, told me about what he was doing briefly and then was gone never to be heard of again. anybody else remember that dude? he was talking about removing the oil injection on his dt200 and so on..

also, i have a brand new vitos crank sitting right here, can i measure it with a ruler or is that now accurate enough for you??

I measured the right side of the crank. The bearing surface dia. is .984" the length is .594. The next part of the shaft measures .783" dia and is 1.462" in length. The threaded end of the crank measures .566" in length.

Hope this helps!

Hi,
Thank you for the measurements. That info should be a good start. (Better than what I had i.e no measurement at all)
It is hard to gather information about the Blaster in Australia, because they are as rare as hen's teeth.
Great that you guys would help me out.
Maybe I will be able to help some of you guys with questions about the DT motor.
Just remember ours is the R model not the L
Cheers, and thank you again

Hi Guys,
I'm new here. I have the complete specs on a blaster crank I have tried to attach it but the file is too big. If you want it I will need your E-mail or someone to tell me how else I can post it in this thread.
