Has anyone rode with both and have a preference??

I ride trails and MX. No BIG jumps. Looking for a smooth ride over smaller bumps 3"-5".

Do you loose a lot of cornering stability with long travel?

for your use, standard travel will work.

with the blaster frame only being 9-ish inches max off the ground, would long travel bottom out the frame before the suspension ?
with good shocks, standard travel will not

From my understanding talking with my suspension guy...long travel>standard travel but quality built shocks>>>>>>>stock shocks.

Explanation: Long travels are better than standard travel but can only do so much because of the small shocks and travel that blasters are setup for regardless of arms choice. The big difference is just getting a quality shock built for you and your setup. That is where you will see the difference.

A quality shock builder can take your shock (given its the right eye to eye length for the arms) and adjust it to only compress as much as you want to ensure the frame keeps from bottoming out. Long travel just gives them a little more stroke to do that with.
